Our Ensembles

We are fortunate to offer a variety of music classes that serve students of all ability levels, including Beginning Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Chorus. In addition to class, our students perform in local parades, music festivals, All-County Band, Solo & Ensemble, and more. Contact Mr. Crollick if you are unsure of which class is right for you!

Beginning Band

Our Beginning Band is open to any RBSMS student in Sixth, Seventh, or Eighth Grade. This band is made up of students that have no previous band experience. In Beginning Band, students learn about and select an instrument to perform. Additionally, they learn how to read music, and have the opportunity to perform at our Winter Concert, Spring Concert, and Solo & Ensemble.

Concert & Symphonic Band

The Concert & Symphonic Band are ability-based ensembles for students who have already completed Beginning Band. These ensembles perform at all Marching Band events, Winter and Spring Concert, Concert MPA, and Solo & Ensemble.

Marching Band

The Marching Band comprises all students from both the Concert and Symphonic Bands. This ensemble performs at home football games, the Festival of Lights Parade, the Founder’s Day Parade, and other school functions.

Jazz Ensemble

Our Jazz Ensemble is recommended for any student who has already completed Beginning Band and is interested in learning to play Jazz. This ensemble’s instrumentation is that of a classic big band, including saxophones, trumpets, trombones, guitar, piano, bass guitar, and drumset. Students are selected for this ensemble based on ability, behavior, and interest in jazz.

Concert Choir

Our Concert Choir is open to any RBSMS student in Sixth, Seventh, or Eighth Grade. Unlike the band classes, students in choir are taught to sing! While in chorus, students are taught how to read and perform music of varying styles and genre. Additionally, they have the opportunity to perform at our Winter Concert, Spring Concert, East Pasco Sings, and Solo & Ensemble.
